Middle East

The Middle East is a nebulously-defined area that is usually taken to mean the Levant, Anatolia, Egypt, the Arabian Peninsula, Iraq and Iran. Sometimes people also use it to include the rest of North Africa, or other Persian-speaking countries like Afghanistan, or other Arabic-speaking countries like Sudan. If I’ve tagged stuff with this tag, that probably means it’s something of pan-regional significance (like the Arab Spring); otherwise I would probably just tag it with the country (or couple of countries) the post concerns.
