Overall a good article about Australia’s deeply unhealthy media landscape. I’m not so sure about the idea that zero political action should be taken to break up Murdoch’s monopoly (and that we should leave it all to consumer choices), though. IIRC John Howard had to actually change the media ownership laws in order to enable Murdoch’s empire to establish such a chokehold over Australian news. It seems like at the very least we should change that back…
