EXTREMELY LONG read on the dysfunction of the US’s “NGO left”. I agreed with some parts (some of the people ensconced within it being more interested in political purity than workable coalition-building or achieving anything) but disagreed with others (the repetition that it is selfish to demand decent working conditions). Last year I read an article, which I made a link post about, which argued that the US Left is divided into three main camps and as per the terminology of that piece, this article is basically about the dysfunction within the “Alphabet Left” part of the liberal left. I’d recommend that article from last year too if you found this one interesting.
