- Spit hoods are being used on asylum seekers imprisoned in Australian detention centres
- The Northern Territory is still using them on adolescents in juvenile detention despite the 2016 Don Dale scandal
- Queensland and the ACT also make them available in their detention centres
- Only South Australia has banned their use
- The Federal Government is refusing to keep statistics on their use
