Link: “Privileged people misjudge effects of pro-equality policies on them”
Apparently some studies have found that members of “privileged” groups tend to believe that policies intended to boost equality will have a negative impact on them, even if expressly told it’s a hypothetical situation where they should assume resources are unlimited. I can’t help but feel that this is because it’s so deeply ingrained in us under capitalism to believe that everything is a zero-sum game, so even when we intellectually know or are told that it’s not a zero sum game many people still believe it is.
