The Philippines’ new president-elect, Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., has decreed that there must be a “revision” of history books that relay the brutal history of his father’s dictatorship, on the basis that they’re “teaching children lies”. As a result, there’s now panic buying of history books on the topic – people feel like they have to snatch up these books and preserve them before it’s too late.
